MORPHOLOGY

Lemurs are the most diverse primates in Madagascar, and occur throughout the island in a variety of habitats. One problem in lemur conservation is that scientists still disagree on how many kinds of lemurs there are. As the island’s human population grows, it’s important for conservationists to know the number of different species so that appropriate reserves can be set aside to preserve this diversity.
