Who's Who

The work to clean up the Bronx River was started and is being sustained by citizens who decided to steward-or take care-of the river. They organized clean ups, parks, fund-raisers and spurred their politicians to help them along.

Government authority and involvement with the Bronx River is shared by a number of agencies and organizations, from the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to the New York City Parks Department.

#5. Citizen groups, scientists and governmental organizations are active in your watershed. Track them down and jot down what types of work they do and their contact information so you can reach them for your final report.
